The fox in the summer

The fox

Foxes live alone or in small family groups.

They spend the day in and around their den.

The den may be hidden among the brush and tree roots at the edge of a railway cutting. Here, the fox has 4-6 cubs in early spring.

If you find a fox's den, try to keep as still as possible a little way off. In the evening or early mornings in June/July, the chances of seeing cubs are quite good.
